The grade level I chose for ELA Standards and Technology Matrix is Grade 3. The specific standard I chose was Standards Technology 3 LAFS.3.RI.2.5 which states the "use text featured and search tools (e.g., key words, sidebars, hyperlinks) to locate information relevant to a given topic efficiently and in technology online filtered search engines such as Safe Search Kids". I would definitely implant this standard in the classroom. This is similar to reading a textbook and looking at clues like footnotes and captions to help students understand the topic or specific things like a certain meaning of a word. Instead of it being in a book, this is online. Using things like hyperlinks can save time instead of typing out an entire link. Key words online or in a textbook always help define or teach students a meaning of a word which helps them better understand not only the word but the way in which the word was used in the context. I feel confident to implant this standard at my current skill set because it isn't hard to teach or show someone how to use and look for things like bold words, captions, graphs, and key words etc which would make it a lot easier to understand the information or site they are looking at.
One of the resource tool in the CPALMS Educator Toolkit is the curriculum planner. It makes the courses fun and easier to keep on track, planning out chapters, units, and lessons. This would be very useful because if it is easier to help design and make a curriculum then it would be helpful not only to me but students as well. I could interpret things student struggle with the most and design more problems where students can learn and engage in the things they don't know or struggle with. Another thing is that when I make a curriculum I could share it with other teachers and have their input into fixing or making it better. I could even share it with other teachers not only at the same school but from anywhere else as well.
I had a lot of fun working on the Newsletter Design assignment. It's been awhile since I've used MS Word for anything other than essays. My favorite part was choosing the color, shade, and boarder design for the newsletter. I feel like I believe there was room for improvement. I should of checked my newsletter to see if my hyperlink was actually functioning. I used my Macbook Pro to design this so maybe up loading it on PC was a bit different. Using skills like PicArt and shading can come in handy in the future if I ever have to design any thing for example volunteering at an elementary school and helping out with the weekly newsletter.
